Figulus gestroi Nagel, 1928는 원기재 이후 거의 연구되지 않은 종이다. 본 연구에서는 인도네시아 뉴기니에서 채집된 표본을 바탕으로 F. gestroi의 외부 형태와 암·수 생식기를 처음으로 도해하였다. Nagel의 기준표본은 제2차 세계대전 중 소실된 것으로 추정되며, 향후 신모식표본의 지정이 필요할 가능성이 있다.
Figulus gestroi Nagel, 1928 has remained poorly known since its original description. Based on newly collected specimens from Indonesian New Guinea, the external morphology and the male and female genitalia of F. gestroi are illustrated for the first time. As Nagel’s type material was likely destroyed during World War II, designation of a neotype may be required in the future.
